My One Room, Two Ways Room Design

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to share the room Megan and Dawn, from E. Interiors, designed for their One Room, Two Way series. In case you missed it, today, I'm happy to share the Master Bedroom I designed for the series.

To refresh your memory the ladies from E. Interiors have started a new design series in which they select 2 pieces of furniture and then design a room around those two pieces. They also ask another designer to use the same 2 pieces and design a room of their own. Hence, the "One Room, Two Ways" series title. Megan and Dawn asked me to participate and chose this beautiful bed and nightstand as the 2 key pieces for the room. You can see Megan and Dawn's fabulous bohemian inspires design in my previous post. My design took on a more retreat type feel. The color palette remained neutral and incorporated a bit of feminine sophistication, which is no surprise to those who know my design style well. I love how the design came together and I hope you do too! Take a look!

I could definitely see myself spending time in this space! Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are all having a great week.

Guest Post: E. Interiors - One Room Two Ways

Hello, Everyone! If you are visiting from E. Interiors, Welcome and Thank You for visiting! I'm Sita, an Interior Designer, Wife and Mother of 3, living just outside Salt Lake City, Utah. I work in Residential Interior Design and specialize in remodels and new construction. I am fortunate to work with amazing clients and have been blessed to do something I am truly passionate about. You can see more of my work on my Portfolio page and also keep up with my current projects on Instagram.

I am so happy to have the incredibly talented design duo of Megan + Dawn, from E. Interiors, here today. If you aren't familiar with E. Interiors, you definitely need to check them out. Their website and Instagram is full on inspiration and eye candy! When these two lovely ladies reached out to me and asked me to be part of their "One Room, Two Ways" series, I jumped at the chance. I had so much fun creating a Master Bedroom design using the two pieces of furniture they selected. You can head over to their website to see my design!

Megan and Dawn are here today, sharing the gorgeous Bohemian Inspired bedroom design board, which they put together, using the same two furniture pieces for inspiration. Keep reading to see their fabulous design and read more about their "One Room, Two Ways" series. Take it away, Ladies!

Hello and thank you so much to Sita for having us here today. We are so excited to share our room design with you. We are Megan + Dawn and we’re the mother-daughter team behind E. Interiors. We absolutely loved working with Sita on our One Room, Two Ways Series. The way the series works is we pick two pieces for a room and then we each build a room design around it. Sita and I have both designed beautiful bedrooms around this gorgeous bed and nightstand. We have created a Boho Glam bedroom with lots of rich navy blue and pops of pink to share with you today. You can head to our website to check out the beautiful neutral master bedroom Sita created. We hope you love the room!

Sita Montgomery Interiors: The Primrose Project Girls' Homework Area

Today, I'm happy to be sharing the reveal of the Homework Area I created in the second floor loft in the Primrose Project. This space was formerly a landing area for toys and messes. My clients asked me turn their loft area into a space where their girls could study and do homework. As part of the remodel, the loft was given a new window, carpet, paint and light fixture. I designed the built in workspace to accommodate both girls and provide plenty of storage for all their books and other necessities. My finish carpenters did an incredible job bringing the design to life. We finished it off with a white quartz counter top, for durability, and beautiful antique brass hardware. Take a look...

The loft space is now a pretty and functional space! I think I could get a lot of work done in a space like this!

Just for fun here is the before and after for you...

I still have a few more reveals from this remodel project to share with you, so stay tuned!

Kid Friendly Rug Round Up

I get so many questions about rugs that are kid friendly and easy to clean, that I decided to follow up my Affordable Rug Round up from last week with a Kid Friendly and Easy to Clean Rug Round Up. I am very familiar with the messes kids can make. Having 3 of my own, we have sacrificed a few rugs to stains. Fortunately, these days, there are many beautiful and affordable rugs out there for those of us who love our rugs, but not enough to want to give are children away. ;) Synthetic rugs are a great way to get the look and feel of a pretty wool rug, but without all the maintenance. Rugs made of polyester, propylene or olefin, are a great option for high traffic areas, like a mudroom or entryway. They are also soft enough to have underfoot in a bedroom or living room. I don't normally put rugs under dining tables, when my client's have young children, but if you really want/need a rug under your dining table, a synthetic rug is a great option. One thing to note, while these rugs can be functional and beautiful, they do not have a thick pile, although many are very soft. If you are putting this type of rug on a hard surfaces and want to have a cushier feel, be sure to use a nice thick rug pad.

Here are a few of my picks for rugs that check the boxes of beautiful, functional and easy to clean!
